In collaboration with the Consular Office in Cape Town, ASO President Remo Gysin and my colleague ASO Delegate Hans-Georg Bosch, a very successful information evening was held at the Swiss Club in Cape Town.
Main topics of discussions were:
- Changes in the law for naturalization of descendants of Swiss Immigrants coming into effect on 1 January 2018
- Automatic information exchange between SARS and Swiss Tax Authorities as from 1 January 2018
- Current banking situation for Swiss abroad
- Consular information
These topics were discussed, and the guests had the opportunity to also ask the different speakers related questions. Of great immediate importance is of course the “Automatic Exchange of Information
between SARS and Swiss Tax Authorities”. We do realize that there is a great need for information and clarity on the relevant topics. Based on the success of these evenings, a follow up evening; concentrating especially on the Automatic Exchange of information between SARS & Swiss Tax Authorities; will be held in February. Details will follow closer to the time.
A summary of the presentation is available in electronic format. Please contact Marcie Bischof for further information.
